Representation is not just about who or what is visible. It's also about who determines which stories are told. Switzerland is a migration society, and its cultural landscape is correspondingly diverse. People with a migration background shape art and culture, tell of their experiences and create new perspectives. Yet how visible is this diversity in institutions, on stages, in exhibitions and where funding decisions are made? At this edition of #RepresentationMatters, cultural practitioners discuss what cultural funding could look like that actually reflects Switzerland today. At the beginning of 2026, the city of Bern published a guide for diversity-oriented cultural funding, setting an important impulse. What can we learn from it? And how do we move from increased visibility to genuine participation? The event will be moderated by Nina Fargahi. About #RepresentationMatters The #RepresentationMatters series creates space for exchange, personal experiences and professional perspectives. People with a migration background speak about structural barriers, the importance of role models and the question of what changes need to be initiated so that the diversity of society becomes visible in all areas of life. This event is part of the annual focus SPACE. https://www.karldergrosse.ch/programm/veranstaltung/fur-eine-kulturforderung-die-unsere-vielfalt-widerspiegelt
