Since 2012, the trio has been rocking various stages under the name Gurus of Now (GON). A notable highlight was their appearance as the opening act for Barb Wire Dolls (LA) at the Anti-Racism Festival in June 2014 at the old barracks in Zurich. Their music is self-made, compact and catchy. In 2020, they released their first EP "thrillomatic". The name Gurus of Now means to the trio that they don't rely on what was yesterday or what might be tomorrow. The Gurus of Now want now and continue to do what they love most: alternative rock'n'roll. "Dan Jaxon" – that already sounds good. But it's not just the sound of the band name that appeals, the music itself is supposed to hit the audience big and mature. Inspired by diverse influences, the band refuses to be pigeonholed – rather, you'd have to imagine an entire piece of furniture. With many colorful drawers, corners and edges, the five musicians present their creativity, their unmistakable unique sound and the much-celebrated interplay between loud and quiet. Dan Jaxon writes powerful live songs and surprises with intensity and pronounced dynamics. Drummer Andy Gantenbein drives with powerful beats and airy rhythm, Urs «Üse» Müller pumps the grooves from his bass, while Andi «Coni» Conrad hammers his strokes of genius from the guitar. Tom Schläpfer provides the wafting sound carpet, and Stefan «The Voice» Voli raises his voice sometimes gently and melodious, sometimes rough and full of verbal eruptions. When you throw it all together in chaos, it creates organized sound à la Dan Jaxon – a rock band that pushes through with its own compositions, stays in the ear a little longer, and thus keeps earworms company. Dan Jaxon sounds. Dan Jaxon drives. Dan Jaxon rocks. And that's a good thing!!!
