He refuses military service on pacifist grounds, ends up in prison, and writes one of his most important poetry collections there. Decades later, this new edition makes Albert Ehrismann's work accessible again. At the launch, editor Thomas Dütsch speaks about an almost forgotten innovator of Swiss literature. Actress Eva Maropoulos brings his timelessly modern poems back to life. Moderation: Bernhard Echte Albert Ehrismann (1908–1998) was a Zurich poet. His extensive work centered on more than twenty poetry collections; he also wrote for Cabaret Cornichon, Nebelspalter, and various stage projects. In 1940 he received the Conrad-Ferdinand-Meyer Prize, in 1978 the Literature Prize of the City of Zurich. Alongside his work as a teacher and language instructor, Thomas Dütsch has published poems in renowned literary journals and newspapers. For his two poetry collections Windgeschäft (2001) and Weißzeug (2011) he received recognition awards from the canton and the city of Zurich respectively.
