His sound is often compared to a gentle blend of Bon Iver, Adrianne Lenker and Bombay Bicycle Club, yet it is unmistakably his own. After years in Reykjavík and time abroad, the Icelandic musician has returned to his homeland, the northern town of Húsavík. A quiet mission drives his art: helping people feel hope, find themselves again, overcome doubt and discover beauty in places where things feel out of place. His new EP is also driven by this (release: 24.4.2026). With «Fleeting the Shore», Axel turns even further inward – he records the EP entirely alone in his house in Húsavík, with a sense of simplicity. «Fleeting The Shore» traces the quiet currents of change, self-isolation and loneliness, capturing the feeling of returning to a «new old» place and being reshaped by it. By developing the songs in the same space where they were written, he creates unfiltered intimacy and the music is rooted in the silence of his home.
