SUMMARY:Accused\, tortured\, executed
LOCATION:Helmhaus\, Limmatquai 31 - Zürich
DESCRIPTION:Witch persecution in Zurich Between 1487 and 1701\, 80 women an
d 5 men were executed as "witches" in Zurich territory. We show how a tria
l proceeded\, what image the population had of the "witch" and how artists
depicted them. We introduce you to Agatha Studler\, the only woman execut
ed as a "witch" in the city of Zurich. And we explain why women in particu
lar were so often accused. Visit with us the Zurich sites of witch persecu
tion – you will find that you are already very familiar with them…\n\n
